Application Procedure

Before applying to the Foundation please make sure you have read our Mission Statement and the pages explaining what we fund.

If you believe that your chosen endeavour aligns with the Foundation’s goals and wish to seek support from the Foundation, then please follow the below application procedure.

Please note, your application must contain all of the below information.

  1. Covering letter. (1 page)

  2. Description of your project, be it a course of study / research proposal / conference or otherwise. Please clearly list all expected costs in this section. (maximum 2 pages)

  3. C. V. (with 1 page to include main publications, if existent and relevant)

  4. Statement outlining other possible sources of funding. (maximum 2 pages)

  5. Two academic references on your behalf. Note, these must be e-mailed separately to the Secretary by the referees themselves.

  6. Your contact details, including an e-mail address and phone number.

Please note that applications over 10 pages (including references) will not be accepted.

Further Details for Study and Research Applications

For applicants looking to commit to study or research, please ensure in Section 2 of your application to provide a summary of your intended line of work, languages required for this work as well as your proficiency in these languages, and the appropriateness of the institution you have selected.

Further Details for Collaboration Applications

For collaboration applications, please provide evidence that your collaboration project will meet the goals of the Charity. For conferences, this should include your mission statement, biographical details of any keynote speakers, and brief summaries of the academic papers intended for discussion.

Further Details for Other Applications

If your application is for a kind of project not mentioned on this website but you still feel it falls within the Foundation’s interests, you are still welcome to apply. Please make clear in your application what your intended project is with as much key and summative information as possible.

Submitting your Application

Once you have all of the required information, please send it as one e-mail to Secretary@tsefoundation.org.uk. Your referees should also send their references to this e-mail.

Please note that an application cannot be considered until all supporting material has been received. The Foundation will confirm receipt of a full application and will seek to reach a decision within three months or less.
